This summer, ONE Ministries will be headed to the west coast - but we aren't looking to soak up the rays. With the beautiful weather, the sandy beaches, and an endless supply of things to do, San Diego is a hotspot for anyone looking to have a fun time. But with this warm climate comes one of the highest homeless and street populations in the country. The beautiful homes that line the beach don’t tell the whole story of those who struggle. Something about the daily “sunny and 72” forecast makes people forget to help those who are in the greatest need. That is why San Diego needs you!

Possible Projects Include:

  • Helping families whose children are in the hospital by doing housekeeping, preparing food, and serving lunch at a nonprofit program that blesses people in that situation.
  • Preparing meals, serving, and eating with children from low-income families, and preparing a craft or activity for them—all at a summer food service program that’s a partnership between state and federal agencies, and local churches and ministries.
  • Coordinating games and readings, sharing a meal, and being a friend to residents of a senior wellness center or an independent living facility.
  • Reading stories, playing games, doing crafts, and spending time with children through places like the Boys and Girls Club and local libraries.
  • Serving and spending time with people at the local rescue mission.

DATES: July 1st - July 9th, 2017

COST:  $400 - Final payments are due May 14th

FINAL PAYMENT:

With fundraising and church support, the final cost for this year's trip is $590. If you have already paid the deposit, your payment of $490 is due THIS SUNDAY, THE 26TH (all checks payable to BCEFC).

SATURDAY.2 |  Leave BCEFC at 8:00am (*EAT BREAKFAST BEFORE*) --> Arrive in Columbia, MO at 10:00pm.

SUNDAY.3 | Leave Columbia, MO at 8:00am --> Arrive in Louisville, KY at 3:00pm.

MONDAY.4-THURSDAY.7 | Check out this SCHEDULE for a daily look at the conference!

THURSDAY.7 PM | Leave Louisville, KY at 9:00pm --> Arrive in Mt. Vernon, IL at 12:00am.

FRIDAY.8 | SIX FLAGS!!! --> Arrive in Columbia, MO at 10:00pm.

SATURDAY.9 | Leave Columbia, MO at 8:00am --> Arrive at BCEFC at 9:00pm.

WHAT TO BRING:

BIBLE | An ink and paper Bible, not just a lights and pixels one.

PILLOW | We're staying in hotels throughout the week, so no need for sleeping bags or linens, but you may want an extra pillow for your bed and for the road.

TOILETRIES | Maybe you want to use the hotel's shampoo and soap, but you should at least bring some toothpaste/brush.

MEAL CASH | CHALLENGE provides all the meals at the conference, but that leaves us on our own for the travel. Make sure to bring enough money to cover 8 MEALS.

This summer, ONE Ministries is messin' with Texas! We'll be heading south, bringing the love of God to the Lone Star State. Some of our possible ministry opportunities include:

  • Helping kids from underpriveleged backgrounds through a local arts-focused nonprofit.
  • Assisting elderly residents wth activities and programs at an assisted living center.
  • Serving alongside residents bringing hope to people struggling with various types of addictions and challenges.
  • Assisting at a meternity home that provides women and teens in crisis pregnancies with housing, educational opportunities, and access to health services.
  • Working with kids at a tutoring center.
  • Hosting a Backyard Bible Club.

BASIC TRIP INFO:

LOCATION: Austin, TX (Cedar Park)

DATES: June 20th - 27th, 2015

COST: $600 (NOTE: BCEFC is supporting $115 of the trip cost, and there will be additional fundraising opportunities)

EARLY REGISTRATION: $575 if registered by MARCH 15TH.

DEPOSIT: A $50 deposit will be due on SUNDAY, MARCH 15TH to reserve your spot on the trip.

WHAT: Challenge is the biennial national conference for EFCA students entering 7th grade to students who have just completed 12th grade. Challenge is a catalytic environment challenging students to live on mission with God everyday, everywhere, forever.

WHEN: July 6-11, 2014

WHERE: The Kansas City Convention Center

COST: $575 (BCEFC will be supporting 20% of this cost!) | Please submit a deposit of $100 by APRIL 27TH to reserve your spot on the trip! The final $360 will be due no later than JUNE 15TH.
