This summer, ONE Ministries will be headed to the west coast - but we aren't looking to soak up the rays. With the beautiful weather, the sandy beaches, and an endless supply of things to do, San Diego is a hotspot for anyone looking to have a fun time. But with this warm climate comes one of the highest homeless and street populations in the country. The beautiful homes that line the beach don’t tell the whole story of those who struggle. Something about the daily “sunny and 72” forecast makes people forget to help those who are in the greatest need. That is why San Diego needs you!

Possible Projects Include:

  • Helping families whose children are in the hospital by doing housekeeping, preparing food, and serving lunch at a nonprofit program that blesses people in that situation.
  • Preparing meals, serving, and eating with children from low-income families, and preparing a craft or activity for them—all at a summer food service program that’s a partnership between state and federal agencies, and local churches and ministries.
  • Coordinating games and readings, sharing a meal, and being a friend to residents of a senior wellness center or an independent living facility.
  • Reading stories, playing games, doing crafts, and spending time with children through places like the Boys and Girls Club and local libraries.
  • Serving and spending time with people at the local rescue mission.

Basic Trip Info:

LOCATION: San Diego, CA (host church in nearby Lakeside, CA)

DATES: July 1st - July 9th, 2017

COST:  $400 - Final payments are due May 14th

Pray For Austin

In only a few weeks, a group of twenty students and leaders from our youth group will be traveling to Austin, Texas for our summer mission trip. Currently, the communities that we are preparing to serve are dealing with devastating rainfall and flooding. Please keep these people in your prayers as we prepare to reach out to a community that is more in need now than ever.

Take a look at the video below to get an idea of the current situation.

Flooding in Texas

Texas hasn't seen flooding this bad since 1929.

ONE Mission: Dress Code

TEAMeffort's dress code for our South Dakota trip.

This year, like last year, we will be taking our mission trip with an organization called TEAMeffort. Because while at the camp we will be under their guidance, we must follow their dress code. But remember, as Christians we are called to give glory to God alone, and not to keep any of it for ourselves. So whether at a TEAMeffort camp or walking the halls of your high school, modesty should be a priority.

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. Do not cause anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God—even as I try to please everyone in every way. For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many,so that they may be saved.
-- 1 Corinthians 10:31
Here's the DRESS CODE:
TEAMeffort dress code is loose-fitting unaltered t-shirts and loose-fitting fingertip length shorts. Close-toed shoes must be worn on the mission project worksite. Undergarments should not be visible and clothing should be properly fastened. Hemlines on shorts or skirts must be at least fingertip length. We do not allow tank tops, spaghetti strap shirts, halter tops, tube tops, or two-piece bikini bathing suits. When swimming, women must wear a modest one-piece suit or a tankini-style suit that covers the torso and midriff (front, sides, and back); men must wear t-shirts when not in the swimming area.
